What is DeepMind?

        Today, I want to share the DeepMind with you. In this post, I will give some information about them and in the following days I will look into some projects or articles that they did.

        So, what they do basically? I want to answer this question with their words: "Artificial intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. We research and build safe AI systems that learn how to solve problems and advance scientific discovery for all."

        DeepMind founded in September 2010 in UK by Demis Hassabis, Shane Legg and Mustafa Suleyman. Company acquired by Google in 2014 and became a wholly owned subsidiary of a Alphabet Inc. In the end, they became a high profiled firm in AI world.

        Let's take a little look into some of their projects. Like I said, I will come back for this topic later with detailed information. In my opinion, the most interesting breakthrough of DeepMind is their AlphaGo program which beat the world champion Go player "Lee Sedol". It was a critic threshold in the competition between the human and artificial intelligence such that a documentary have made about it. 

        Also, "The company has created a neural network that learns how to play video games in a fashion similar to that of humans, as well as a Neural Turing machine, or a neural network that may be able to access an external memory like a conventional Turing machine, resulting in a computer that mimics the short-term memory of the human brain."*
